This four-ingredient marinated flank steak recipe has a Mexican flavor thanks for the fajita seasoning. That’s the secret ingredient in the three-ingredient marinade. Flank steak is marinated in beer, Italian salad dressing and fajita seasoning. Marinate the meat at least eight hours for the best results. The meat is quickly cooked on an outdoor grill, indoor grill or in a grill pan on the stovetop until it reaches your desired doneness.

Cuisine: American
Prep Time: 5 minutes plus 8 hours to marinate
Cook Time: 15 to 20 minutes
Total Time: 20 to 25 minutes plus time to marinate
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 flank steak (about 1 1/2 pounds)
  • 6 ounces beer (half a 12-ounce can)
  • 4 ounces (1/2 an 8-ounce bottle) Italian dressing
  • 1/8 cup fajita seasoning

Recipe Notes

  • This juicy grilled flank steak can easily be doubled – just use the whole can of beef and the entire bottle of Italian salad dressing.
  • Slice the leftover steak and use it for a healthy steak salad the next day for dinner or lunch.

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Combine the beer, salad dressing and fajita seasoning in a plastic zipper bag or shallow dish. Stir to combine. Add the flank steak and squish or turn to coat. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  2. When ready to cook, remove the steak from the marinade (discard the marinade). Heat an outdoor grill, indoor grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the steak for about 15 to 20 minutes or until desired doneness. Let the steak rest 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
